Interventional Cardiology Services and Treatments
Unlike traditional open-heart surgery, our interventional procedures are performed through tiny incisions using thin tubes called catheters, which are carefully guided to the affected area. These catheter-based procedures or interventions address diseases affecting the heart’s arteries and structure.

We are proud to offer:
- A skilled team consisting of interventional cardiologists, general cardiologists, advanced practice providers (APPs), specialized trained nurses and technicians who work in close collaboration with our, cardiac surgery, electrophysiology (EP) and vascular surgery departments.
- State-of-the-art Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory, which is staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year with in-house providers to oversee scheduled and emergency catheter-based procedures, including heart attacks and cardiogenic shock.
- The latest technology for opening blockages with excellent results of the coronary arteries including cutting- edge plaque modification techniques such as Intravascular lithotripsy, rotablation, laser atherectomy, advanced intravascular imaging and physiology.
- A wide variety of advanced temporary support devices, otherwise known as mechanical circulatory support, to help your heart improve and recover when it is not functioning well but also to promote blood flow to the rest of your body for a period of time.
- Close collaboration with Southcoast Health general cardiologists, primary care providers, and specialists including cardiac rehab to provide you with the best care throughout your recovery journey.
